LIQUOR HARM MINIMISATION STRATEGIES

PRE-EVENT PLANNING

Of alcohol management strategies to ensure relevant legislation for the sale and supply of alcohol.

 

BRIEFING

All bar staff are verbally briefed to ensure an understanding of the Alcohol Management Plan and given a hard copy for reference.

 

TRANSPORT

To encourage the use of public transport and to ensure the safe transportation of patrons.

To develop and implement Traffic Management Plan.

 

SITE ENTRY & EXIT

To establish terms and conditions and procedure of entry. To ensure entry and licensing conditions are not breached by persons bringing alcohol on site and to prevent intoxicated persons from entering the site.

No alcohol in car park areas.

No alcohol outside of licensed areas.

 

SIGNAGE

Provide effective signage to meet licensing requirements and ensure effective communication of entry conditions.

 

ALCOHOL SALES AREA

Ensure point of sale comply with legislative signage requirements.

All staff are RSA trained with valid certification.

Security & RSA in position checking patrons.

Intoxicated patrons from gaining entry.

 

ALTERNATIVE NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

Ensure patrons have access to non-alcoholic beverages in bars, cafes and food areas.

 

ACCESS TO WATER

Access to free water stations inside every bar and in each event field.

 

BAR CORRALLING

Have patrons corralled to enter bar areas to monitor their actions and assessment of intoxication.

To check patrons have correct wristbands for bar entry being over 18 years of age.

 

FOOD

Ensure patrons have access to a variety of food vendors to assist with reducing the effects of alcohol.

 

PATRON REMOVAL

Ensure patrons who are intoxicated or are behaving indecently, violently or being quarrelsome are safely removed from the licensed area.

 

SECURITY

Effective security planning to provide a safe and enjoyable event for all staff and patrons.

 

RSA MARSHALS

Organise RSA Marshals for each bar and roaming event areas to ensure patrons are monitored and assessed for signs of intoxication before purchasing alcohol.

 

UNDER 18 BAR ACCESS

Ensure no minors /under 18s have access to bar areas. They are fitted and identified by fluorescent yellow wristband.

 

UNDER 18s SECONDARY SUPPLY OF ALCOHOL

To ensure no minors have access to secondary supply of alcohol in the event fields.

 

BREATHALYSERS

Ensure patrons have access to breathalysers at each gate to understand their alcohol consumption and travel options.

 

CCTV

Monitored CCTV for patron safety and preventing anti-social behaviour.

 

FIRST AID / EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

Ensuring immediate access to medical assistance onsite.

 

EVENT LIGHTING

Ensure patron safety and monitor liquor compliance throughout the licensed area with a sufficient range of lighting.

 

DE-BRIEFING

Debrief of event including effectiveness of alcohol management strategies.
